The Box Hamstring Stretch

Purpose: to help with tightness in the hamstrings, glutes & shoulders. The stretch can be used as activation before pressing movements overhead and deadlifts.

Key points of performance:

1. Focus on making an L with your hands on the floor like a handstand and feet on a box appropriate for your height.

2. Hands should be stacked directly under shoulders and hips in one straight line.

3. Elbows should not bend, but be locked out.

4. If you’re not flexible enough to straighten the knees, bending at the knees is suggested.

5. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and try to push your armpits towards the box.

6. Feet should be placed on the center of the box.
